I'm not sure that is entirely correct. Some laws, statutes etc use sections, others articles. I prefer not to change the nomenclature.

As a rule of thumb, I would prefer the written-out word "Article."

@ Dragon and Carullus: Thank you for your answer. You are correct in not changing the nomenclature, however, in looking through LEO I have seen so many different answers to this question.

A similar by-laws text (English-language) used Article plus the Roman numeral.

I feel like you've straightened me out. Will then call the German "Paragraph" (i.e. §) "Section". Thank you.
