When Huxley (*1894) was a boy, men believed in the steady progress of human betterment. The belief was based on the stability of society and it foresaw our knowledge explosion but not the breaking up of European societies.

Bsp.2:
...even in that first decade, there are essays which show him the typical twentieth-century cultivated man, a product of the great explosion of knowledge, troubled by the use to which so many of our discoveries are put in our irresponsible and acquisitive societies.

Hallo! Ich arbeite gerade mit einem Artikel über Aldous Huxley und würde die "knowledge explosion" gern auf Deutsch ausdrücken. Ist hier auf das Ende des 19./Anfang des 20. Jh bezogen, hat also nichts mit dem Internet zu tun sondern anscheinend (?) eher mit Entwicklungen im Zusammenhang mit der industriellen Revolution. Haben wir im Deutschen überhaupt einen so kurzen, prägnanten Ausdruck dafür, oder soll ich das umschreiben? Danke und lg, m
