I've never heard of "shallow joke," Philliip. Do you really say that?

I know stupid jokes, boring jokes, bad jokes.

Sometimes, Bill, yes. It's not so common. I'm not sure that "flacher Witz" is too common either.

Ja, "flacher Witz" ist möglich, aber nicht sehr gebräuchlich. Am gebräuchlichsten scheint mir "fauler Witz", besonders in: "Mach hier keine faulen Witze", das klingt angepisst bis bedrohlich. Weitere Varianten: "dummer Witz", "lahmer Witz".

Well, if you ask me, this is getting 'lame'.
