Gibt es im AE ein Aequivalent? Natuerlich kann ich das als "Conservation of creation" uebersetzen, aber ist das / war das auch so ein stehender Begriff?

I'm not aware of one. But then, just as the Eskimos were said to have 40 words for "snow", because it was so important to them, it's not surprising that America has few phrases to do with conservation. Seriously, though, I don't think there's been much of a religious conservation movement here.

(Not that I wish to dispute what Benson has said. Still, here's a use of the suggested translation in a GB church context:)

Ist hier vielleicht o.g. religiöse Strömung gemeint, die ausgehend von den USA dann in DE den Begriff "Bewahrung der Schöpfung" kreiert hat?

CK, there could be some theological connection between the doctrines of "creationism" and the principle of "Bewahrung der Schöpfung", but I think the latter clearly refers to the idea of "saving / preserving / conserving / safeguarding creation" (perhaps, as I say, as a consequence of the theological tenets of "creationism").

But I don't think "creationism" would fit here.

It would be a bit like translating "Umweltschutz" as "the Greens" (not that today's Greens in Germany seem to care much about environmental protection, but they did once).

Kreationismus (ein lächerliche Irrlehre deren Anhänger Volksverdummung betreiben) hat doch mit Bewahrung der Schöpfung nicht das Geringste zu tun!

Thanks a lot, Katsushika, you found the right expression!
Google finds a lot of results, most are European but some of them even in the States.

Justice. Peace and Integrity of Creation was a programme launched by the World Council of Churches in 1983
As it proved impossible to find an adequate German translation for "Integrity of Creation", in german (as in french and Italian) "Bewahrung der Schöpfung", was used instead - this tapped into an earlier network.
This then occasionally causes problems for re-translation back into English and "Bewahrung der Schöpfung" and derivative phrases thereof, where "integrity" might not fit. In such cases "preservation of creation" is used, which links into the term sued in French.
