I've found that "tiny" is a noun, and I'd like to write something like "the difference is in the tiny." I include the period to make clear that's the end of the sentence. Does this make sense? I want to use this as a synonym for "microscopic".

I'm afraid the only context where 'tiny' is a noun is when it means a very small child, and even then it is usually used in the plural: the tinies.

For your context I would stick to "microscopic" or even "size".

I don't see a problem with using "tiny " as a noun; it worked for the movie, "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," for instance. And "tiny" doesn't mean "a small child" in AE, so if that's your audience ...

How do you know that's the OP's context? I thought Maja only used VSW as an example and then wanted to write her own thing.
