Der Blaßkopfrosella unterscheidet sich in jeder Hinsicht nur wenig von dem gewöhnlichen Rosella, Platycercus eximius, dessen Biologie ich im J. f. Orn. 1937, S. 175--186, behandelt babe. Ich kann daher hier auf diese Arbeit verweisen and mich hauptsäichlich auf die Mitteilung derjenigen Beobachtungen beschränken, die neue oder abweichende Feststellungen ergeben. Der Blasskopfrosella (Platycercus adscitus) bildet zwei Unterarten aus: Nördlicher Blasskopfrosella (P. a. adscitus) und Südlicher Blasskopfrosella (P. a. palliceps). Das vorherrschende Unterscheidungsmerkmal von P. a. palliceps ist das Blau der Körperfront, reicht es doch vom Bauch aufwärts bis zur Kehle. Bei P. a. adscitus sind Oberbauch und Brust gelb gefärbt. Der Südliche Blasskopfrosella ist etwas größer. Das Vorkommen der Art ist auf den Nordosten und mittleren Osten Australiens begrenzt; von der Kap-York-Halbinsel südwärts bis ins nördliche New South Wales. ...

... Caratteristiche Il platycercus adscitus, o rosella pallida, è diffuso nelle regioni del Queensland in Australia, come la rosella di Pennant. La taglia è intorno ai 30cm, la testa è gialla con guance bianche con margine inferiore blu, le parti superiori del groppone gialle, le ali nere e cobalto, il sottocoda rosso, la coda verde-azzurro. Il becco è grigio-bluastro chiaro, le zampe grigie, l'iride bruna. Esistono tre sottospecie di questo pappagallo: il P.a. adscitus, originario del Queensland settentrionale, mentre più a sud si trova il P.a. palliceps, di taglia leggermente superiore (33cm), con il margine esterno delle piume del mantello di un giallo marcato, il blu della regione inferiore guanciale più ridotto e la testa più chiara, a volte persino bianca. la terza sottospecie è il P.a. elseyi, che si trova nelle regioni centrali del Queensland. ...
