Die Spornhühner (Galloperdix), manchmal auch als Zwergfasanen bezeichnet,[1] sind eine Gattung der Vögel aus der Ordnung der Hühnervögel. Sie umfasst drei Arten, deren Verbreitung auf den Indischen Subkontinent beschränkt ist. Sie bewohnen meist hügeliges, bewaldetes oder mit Buschland bestandenes, teils felsiges Gelände. Keine der drei Arten ist gefährdet.

... Questo uccello è una delle tre specie del genere Galloperdix.
Si distingue per non avere la pelle nuda nel viso come nel Gallopernice Rosso.
Il maschio ha la coda nera e le parti inferiori ocra che contrastano con le parti superiori più scure. Il piumaggio delle parti superiori e le piume hanno delle macchie bianche bordate di nero. La testa e il collo sono di colore nero con riflessi verdi e finemente maculati di bianco, mentre, groppa e ali copritrici sono di colore castagno.
La femmina è molto più opaca con la fronte, le ali copritrici, e gli auricolari di colore biondo rosseggiante; la gola è chiara con macchie, come nel maschio, ma la femmina non ha macchie bianche sul corpo; il becco e le gambe sono di colore grigio scuro. ...
