Germany: A Hefty Pension for Life for a President Who Left in Disgrace

Christian Wulff, who stepped down as Germany’s president last month after prosecutors asked Parliament to strip him of his immunity from prosecution over accusations of improper ties to business executives, will receive a pension of $266,000 a year for the rest of his life, the president’s office said on Wednesday. Mr. Wulff, 52, served only 20 months in office. He supported reducing the generous lifelong pension for former presidents before he assumed the office. But despite recent newspaper editorials urging him not to accept the pension, he has said nothing in public about it since resigning.

Kann man so sagen, ja.

OT: Allerdings bekommt er natürlich keine "$266,000 a year for the rest of his life", sondern €199.000.

Statt "saftig" vielleicht auch "ansehnlich" oder "erklecklich" ...
