discrepancy, not discrepance

"contemnation" ist really a stupid mistake, but Leo does offer "discrepance" as translation for Diskrepanz.

And I know that "initial point" is not a direct translation of "Ausgehend von", but I thought this construction doesn't work in english so I look for something adequate.

But I guess I'm happy with the proposal of amw, I just still wonder if "condemnation" is correkt in this context? What I want to say is that almost every literary critic writes that his books are terrible.
