SP, Du hast Recht für die offiziell propagierte Eigenbezeichnung der Organisation. Wie bei etlichen anderen Namen sieht aber der tatsächliche Sprachgebrauch durchaus auch anders aus: in freier Wildbahn ist jenseits der offiziellen Sprachregelung auch die (zusätzlich in LEO eingetragene) Bezeichnung International Standards Organization weit verbreitet. Diese Form begegnet einem immer wieder in engl. Texten und sollte daher auch in LEO eingetragen sein.

Ich schlage daher vor, den Eintrag beizubehalten und, um unbeabsichtigte Fehler in der Ü-Richtung de->en zu vermeiden, auf der engl. Seite um eine kursive Bemerkung in dieser Art zu ergänzen:
" - unofficial name for International Organization for Standardization"

Wenn sich die ISO bewusst einen Abkürzungsnamen (ISO) gibt, der nicht mit der Vollform "International Organization for Standardization" übereinstimmt, dann können Außenstehende wohl schwer argumentieren, die Bezeichnung "International Standards Organization" - die genauso wie die Abkürzung ISO von der Vollform abweicht - sei falsch.
