Without clicking on an unknown link, 'about' in the phrase you quote probably only means 'more or less,' 'approximately.' In a long line or a crowded waiting room, you may know when your turn is about to come soon, even if you're not sure you're the very next person.

I don't think it's a fixed phrase that you would need to enter in the dictionary -- you could also say 'almost next,' 'close to next,' 'they're going to call you,' 'it's almost your turn,' etc.
