If this is true it could be a useful addition. Without the heads-up I would probably have fallen for the false-friend meaning 'capable of interpreting,' which is evidently wrong.

It's not precisely a false friend, because "interpretationsfähig" is just as ambiguous in German and should be avoided in good writing. "-fähig" means "suitable for", "capable of", and not "open to". You don't say "missverständnisfähig" or "fehldeutungsfähig", either.

It's already in LEO. And I don't think that the German term is ambiguous.
