Eigentlich hatte ich die Definition bei meinem Vorschlag (siehe #0) schon angegeben

Die Quellennachweise sind nicht dafür gedacht, die Begriffe zu definieren, sondern dazu, die Gebräuchlichkeit und in dem Übersetzungssinn verstandene Wortverwendung nachzuweisen. Ich kann auch Begriffe aus dem Vorarlberger Zweig meiner Familie anbringen ("müchern" für das Entstehen der geheimnisvollen Aura rund um Weihnachten, speziell in den Räumen, in denen die Geschenke versteckt wurden), wenn ich aber dafür hier einen Übersetzungsvorschlag einstellen will, muss ich trotzdem nachweisen, dass ein Muttersprachler den Begriff genauso verwendet, wie ich ihn vorschlage.

Ich zum Beispiel verstehe unter einem Türhänger einen Kleiderhaken, den man an der Tür anbringt (diese Dinger, die man oben an die Tür hängt, und so schmal sind, dass man die Tür immer noch zukriegt), kann mich zwar durchaus damit anfreunden, das auch diese Nicht-Stören-Schilder so genannt werden, dennoch ist dies immer noch kein Nachweis. Andere verstehen unter Türhänger vielleicht die Scharniere der Tür oder das Problem eines Schauspielers, der beim Auftritt durch die Tür den Text vergessen hat.

Ich denke, warum Nachweise für einen Neueintrag notwendig sind, hast Du mit dem zitierten (fettgedruckten) selbst beantwortet.

Ansonsten rein formal: #7 ist der erste Beitrag, der explizit gegen die Aufnahme spricht, der Rest hat nur gefordert, die Verwendung in Alltagssprache nachzuweisen, oder (#5) mit Zusatztag zu versehen. Eine Aufnahme kann aber dennoch nicht erfolgen, wenn die Korrelation falsch ist, denn sonst haben wir innerhalb weniger Wochen (oder sogar Tage) den Eintrag unter "Falscher Eintrag in LEO?", da hilft auch keine Argumentation darüber, ob LEO auch Wörter aufnehmen sollte, die nicht im Langenscheidt zu finden sind.

More evidence for hangtag in similar contexts, particularly where there is a circular cutout at the top of the tag with a slit to slip it over something like a door handle or a rearview mirror. M-W only explicitly lists the older meaning of a hanging tag on clothing for sale, but its own examples from its web feed include three in the sense of parking, which is the same shape of tag as for a hotel door.

I also found some for Do Not Disturb hangtag, along with Do Not Disturb sign, which is probably the most common in conversation, at least in AE in my experience.
