Die zahllosen LEO-Einträge für rubbish sind - bis auf die beiden o. zitierten - auf der engl. Seite in keiner Weise gekennzeichnet: Siehe Wörterbuch: rubbish.

Die übrigen zwei Dutzend (!) Einträge hätten mE

1) mindestens eine Differenzierung in konkrete und übertragene "[fig.]" Bedeutungen verdient.

2) Man kann darüber streiten, ob für die übertragene Bedeutung auch eine [coll./ugs.]-Kennzeichnung angebracht ist (wie in dem einen LEO-Eintrag). Oxford markiert lediglich Verb und Adjektiv als "informal".

3) Ich hielte auch für die übertragene Bedeutung eine BE-Kennzeichnung - "mainly (Brit.)" ? - für sinnvoll (vgl. Cambridge). Die beiden LEO-Einträge oben verzeichnen eine reine BE-Verwendung, obwohl Cambridge u. div. amerik. WB (AHD, MW) den Wortgebrauch (der konkreten wie der übertragenen Bedeutung) auch für AE konstatieren.

In jedem Fall ist eine einheitliche Kennzeichnung von bedeutungsgleichen Begriffen wünschenswert.

Back to Müllkippe: the most common and idiomatic way of expressing this in BE is simply tip, so I'd support tip on its own going into Leo, The other options in Leo (waste tip, rubbish tip, and further up this thread, council tip) aren't wrong, and I'm sure you'll find examples of them all somewhere on the web, but in an exchange such as this -- What are you doing at the weekend / I'm going to the tip -- I don't imagine many British people would bother specifying waste/rubbish/council.
