Perhaps it should be marked as archaic or obsolete, but it seems to be possible.

I guess you have a point, i.e. it CAN be used, but is most certainly archaic (and sounds stuck-up...), and should be marked as such to avoid misuse. After all, there are definitely much simpler and more contemporary ways of saying the same thing!

Perhaps "desirous" should just be entered in LEO on its own, without "...of going"?

It's a crap entry and should be deleted. Sounds like something from 500 years ago. Not something I would expect to be allowed in the leo dictionary - it could seriously mislead people using modern-day English and cause sheer embarrassment when everyone else laughs out loud at how desirous they are.

@Cookiemonster: "desirous" mag veraltet und/oder förmlich sein und sollte dann entsprechend gekennzeichnet werden - "crap" ist es deshalb noch lage nicht. Es soll auch Leute geben, die ältere Texte lesen oder übersetzen.

Ja, auch wenn der Faden schon alt ist - wir Juristen (eh eine altertümliche und verknöcherte Spezies) verwenden "desirous" noch durchaus. Und durchaus mit Genuss ;-)
