Thank you G.R. and hh, that was what I wanted to know, whether it was just the usual thing, then I have no problem with it.
Although sometimes I would rather not, you see, taxi drivers and I have a little problem because the road where I live on not on the sat nav, so I say where I want to go, they try sat nav because they have never heard of it, get nothing and tell me I have the wrong street name! They ask me how to spell it, at which point I say I can direct them, they say no and want to use the navi, so I spell it, it still doesn't exist and then they tell me I have the wrong place. I say it's a small road and not usually on the navi, they give me a completely disbelieving look and start driving with me directing (probably assuming I am sending them on a wild goose chase and they are going to end up with no money and a wasted journey). When we get to my road, I point out the street sign, at which point I get something along the lines of 'kann sein, aber laut der Navi existiert es nicht' at which point I don't tell them (much as I would like to) that I do ACTUALLY happen to know where I live and that I do live in a REAL flat, on a REAL road and that my flat is not just a figment of my imagination.
This happen the first three times I went in a taxi and I always stayed polite (it might be considered slightly rude to point out the street name to prove I wasn't lying, but other than that I kept smiling). Now I ask to be dropped off at the end of my road so I can say a different road name and there are no problems.
Of course, all this wouldn't be a problem if I just walked, or waited for the bus, but since when I once walked home I got seriously hassled by a guy walking home too (good job I was almost home by then) that I am, understandably, reluctant to walk or wait for more than a few minutes for the bus, in which case I take a taxi.
Anyway, got all that out of my system now. So, from this day forward, I will just get in a taxi, ask them to stop at the end of my road and always give a bit extra as a tip, have no problems with the whole taxi experience and be happy! :-))
