I think dresses play a major role in our world. They are an important medium of nonverbal communication. A fashion designer can tell the story of a culture, refer to himself or pass criticism on something. Alexander McQueen broaches the very actual issue of persons handling with their environment.
Due to my family I was inducted into art and fashion as a child and I started loving these very soon. I realized how much art concerns me when I entered a contest for which I had to create a sweater. My sketch was selected to be sewed and presented in Fashion show in Munich. I was extremely impressed by this first show I´ve attended, it has certainly influenced my emerging enthusiasm for fashion.
I have attended the Kantonsschule Stadelhofen in Zurich which is a grammar school with emphasis on art and design; I was immersed in the different aspects of the arts: Photography, film, sculpture, painting and drawing, portraying, etching, animation, Photoshop and InDesign were all part of the curriculum.
Two relevant projects have settled my decision to take up studies in the domain of art respectively design.
Within my art thesis, I´ve portrayed me by designing and realising three different dresses. Each of them represents another character trait. This was the first time I got involved with the whole process of designing a piece of clothing.
The other important project was my final assignment (Maturitätsarbeit), which I realised with two friends. We wrote a play for two individuals. After the text was finalised we´ve casted the actors, rehearsed the play. Due to our successful promoting, we finally enacted the piece in front of a large audience at Cabaret Voltaire, the point of origin of Dadaism. Our work was awarded by the city of Zurich.

Mein Englisch lässt allerdings sehr zu wünschen übrig, wenn jemand mal einen Blick auf mein Briefchen werfen könnte und mir dann auch noch verbesserungsvorschläge machen könnte, wäre ich dieser Person bis in die Unendlichkeit verbunden. |
