    This is my suggestion below. I am pretty sure I understand "the meaning" of the sentence I am just finding it difficult to get the right words in English. Thank you very much for any help in advance!

    The Canadian Immigration Commission points out that the Government in Ottawa does not envisage a reduction in objection to the figure.

    Wow, das ist vermutlich ein ganz böser Schreibfehler - gemeint ist wahrscheinlich "Einwanderungszahl" oder "Einwandererzahl", also "number of immigrants" oder so ...

    My suggestion: The Canadian Immigration Office is pointing out that the Government in Ottawa is not envisaging any immigration restrictions. :-)
