Was ist deine Zielsprache?

Ich frage deshalb, weil ich noch nie in Deutschland Eis mit dem Geschmack "himmelblau" angeboten bekommen habe.

"Schlumpfeis" an deutschen Eisdielen ist allzuoft Vanille mit Lebensmittelfarbe.
Auf deutsch würde ich es daher "blaues Kaugummieis" nennen, wenn es tatsächlich nach Bubblegum schmeckt.

We had an ice cream flavor in the States called "Blue Moon". I'm not sure what it tastes like because I never ate any of it. It looked very "artificial", so maybe it's the same or similar to Himmelblau-Eis?

Den Begriff "Schlumpfeis" kenne ich auch.
Rund um Gelsenkirchen heißt es im Übrigen gerne "Schalke-Eis"! :-)

I saw Blue Moon on Wikipedia - nicer name than "smurf" :-) but it looks like it's just used in some parts of the States.

Where I'm from, bubble gum ice cream has pieces of bubble gum in it that you have to tuck into your cheek until you've finished the ice cream. The weird blue suff was called "blue bell" whatever that is supposed to taste like. I never tried it. I really like the name blue moon though.

"blue bubble gum ice cream" gibt Google-Hits.

Aber wenn die Kundschaft dann erwartet, dass Kaugummis drin sind und es nicht nur danach schmeckt, ist das natürlich ein Problem.

Bavaria Blue ist der Name eines Blauschimmelkäses. Wohl bekomms ;-)

Ich kenne dieses Eis unter Schlumpfeis oder "Blauer Engel". Schmecken tuts nach I.G. Farben, wie wie man im Ruhrgebiet sagt.

(@CM2DD, meep's apologies. I didn't mean that in that way. But now, inadvertently, there are new ice-cream flavors, thanks to you! I might try gorgonzola ice cream, or bavarian blue ice cream. It's edgy.)

That's beside the point----you need a "catchy name". Kudos. That's tricky.

Just to clarify one point, Blue Bell is a brand of ice cream, not a flavor. (And a good one, too, not a huge national chain but a local creamery in Texas. Some of you may remember the commercials with the talking cows.)

In the dim dark ages, bubble gum was an artificially pink flavor at Baskin Robbins, with little pieces of real bubble gum in it. It wasn't very good.

Never heard of 'blue moon' but it sounds sufficiently awful.

'Bavarian blue' sounds to me like a breed of cat ...

Perhaps in Texas, hm-us. In the upstate NY of my childhood, it was (is?) a flavor, though it may have been spelled "bluebell", I cannot remember.

I've never had Blue Bell, but I've had Blue Bunny (also a brand, also not too widely spread). Makes me wonder if they are "related"? Doesn't matter. Peace

Habe Himmelblau noch nie als Eisgeschmack getroffen, während ich mit Schlumpf-Eis einen bestimmten, sehr künstlichen Geschmack und eine nicht ganz himmelblaue Farbe assotiiere. Aber wahrscheinlich darf man es aus urheberrechtlichen Gründen nicht Schlumpf-Eis nennen ...

Wie heißt das Zeug, das die Schlümpfe immer essen? Sarsaparille?
