I like firefly's version as well. Both would be good (with einfach, as Mattes mentions):

It's a different spin, with a similar/same meaning. I guess it depends on the tone which one would like to convey.

noli's version sounds more true to the original quote, IMO.

I actually wrote American/English in the OP (not American English) ... just for the record. A different topic (always touchy). But, your entry makes me very glad. I thought maybe the double-negatives were more AE than BE.
