All examples I can find for "case differentiation" in a mathematical context appear to be from German-speaking authors. They are typically about the proof method that is called "proof by cases" in English.

Context/ examples Another doubter: related discussion: Fallunterscheidung - case distinction BTW, case discrimination [law], another translation LEO offers, looks fishy as well. Most of the links I find (and that's a mere 755) are of the type: "In either case, discrimination against a minority is involved."
