Just when we were all looking forward to a ‘proper’ Christmas and an end to the pandemic, Corona is back – with a vengeance! so, we could all do with something merry and bright to take our minds off current miseries and to cheer us up a bit. One pleasure, which is always much appreciated here, is the support we get from you, our users, in the forum comments, criticisms and suggestions that enrich our growing range of dictionaries. A special thank you goes to all of you who have made contributions – be they linguistic or financial. They are all very welcome and we are extremely grateful to you all.

As every year since ­1994­ we have filled another 24 ‘doors’ with Christmas ‘goodies’ for you and hope this year’s edition of the ­LEO Advent calendar­ will add a bit of sparkle to your screen time.

We wish you all a stress-free Advent – and hope that our LEO Advent calendar can bring a touch of genuine Christmas cheer.

We are delighted to welcome three new dictionaries to the LEO family:

English ⇔ French

Features more than 46,000 entries at the time of going online.

English ⇔ Russian

Features around 36,000 entries at the time of going online.

Spanish ⇔ Portuguese

Features around 50,000 entries at the time of going online.

All new dictionaries are available in the latest versions of our Android and iOS apps.

The dictionaries are going online with more than 10,000 entries each and come with their own forum and vocabulary trainer.

The entries in the new dictionaries (as in all other LEO dictionaries) are researched and verified by native speakers and come with additional information such as audio pronunciations and noun/verb tables.

As always, we will be happy to receive your comments, wishes and suggestions for improvement either by ­Email to the LEO Team­ or via our forums.
