Actually, I know 'whale tail' only as a g-string that's exposed when the girl/woman sits down or bends over and her pants slide down a tad.

...erstaunlich, was man hier lernt... arse antlers, Arschgeweih....what next?

Name the only car that can automatically withdraw its arse antlers at speeds below 75 mph?

@ Baldrick: I know that one too but I was trying not to lower the tone. I assume you use pants in the AE meaning - to me a whale tail is when the trousers are low slung and you can see the top of the G-string pants (BE meaning).

hattoncote, how can you worry about the tone in a discussion of "Arschgeweih"?
do people other than German hairdressers actually have them, by the way? It got its derogatory name in Germany because more and more definitely uncool people were suddenly sporting them, is that the same in English-speaking countries?

I looked into this thread because I couldn't imagine what an Arschgeweih is. I've seen the things around. At least in Berlin, they are becoming definitly epidemic. But I didn't even know there was a word for it (besides Tattoo am Hintern).

    @tanja1: Why hairdressers?

@ CJde, it's probably not true, anyway.
Maybe it is said because "Friseusen" is a synonym for an uncool person (if I come back from the hairdressers' next time with a blonde frizzy perm, I will know for sure that my hairdresser is reading this forum...). They used to be the girlfriends of the Manta-Fahrer in the series of jokes around 5 years ago or so...

glock: I think I made a mistake. 911s bring out their antlers at 75 mph (120 km/h), but they do not retract until stopping again. This led to some keen coppers in the UK stopping 911s with their antlers out, because they wanted to book them for speeding - the speed limit on British motorways is 70 mph - 112 km/h....

I reckon any political party in Britain that wants to get to power has the best chance by raising the motorway speed limit or abolishing it altogether.

From the fact that the film script doesn't use a standing expression I would deduct that there isn't one for "Arschgeweih".

@Hein: 911 rear spoilers do come in at arround 35 mph.

BTW: G-string plus lower-back tatoo is almost a safe bet, wether in the UK or in Germany.

    Yes you can use 'nor'.
However, the sentance does not sound right to me. At the end can you say something like 'about that/his/her afternoon'?
