    Why is it funny that I wash my plums?

    My British coworker started laughing when I met him as I was coming out of the men's toilet in the place we work and told him I had just gone in their to wash my plums (the truth - the women's bathroom was engaged)! He asked me if I would wash his as well next time - and laughed again quite extremely.

    It has now got to the stage that "visiting the lavatory" is known throughout the company (as far as Brazil and Thailand) as "washing one's plums" and there are official "plum-washing facilities" signs on all the toilet doors. Can anyone explain this joke to me? I do not get it!

    Plums = colloquial expression for "die Hoden" !
    I would have found it quite hilarous too !

    Good job you werenŽt asking to have them covered in rubber.

    I just cannot stop laughing about your co-workers reaction.

    The best laugh I have had all day.

    I wouldŽnt get upset though, the british have a habit of laughing about silly things like that. Please donŽt be offended.

    Funktioniert übrigens auch auf deutsch:
    Ich habe meine Eier gewaschen...obwohl Eier ja meist schon in der Fabrik gewaschen werden :)

    P.S.: Wahrscheinlich meinte sie übrigens wirklich, daß sie dort nur Zwetschgen gewaschen hat. Was im Deutschen mit "ich habe nur meine Pflaume(n) gewaschen" genauso witzig (oder unwitzig) wäre ...

    Ach so... gut - in unserer Firma wird das anders praktiziert. Wir gehen in erster Linie zum Urinieren, zur Defäkation und zur anschließenden Säuberung unserer Hände auf die Toilette. Das Waschen von Obst würden wir in der Küche erledigen. Aber ok, wenn die das da möglicherweise anders herum praktizieren...

    Es soll sogar Leute geben, die sich am Waschbecken des Toilettenraums die Zähne putzen. Iiiih, bah, wie ekelhaft und unhygienisch! *Augenroll*. Wo machst Du das denn zuhause, tack, in der Küche?
