    It's for a card I want to give with a drawing:

    "Just a few of the principles you hammered into me over the past 12 months of working together ..."

    Is that correct and sounds somewhat natural?

    Echt, das ist ein 'real friend'? Ich kannte bisher nur 'hammer home', was ähnlich, aber nicht das Gleiche ist. Live and learn.

    Better with "you have," IMO.
