    Dear LEOs,

after a given percentage, do you use singular or plural?
e.g. "53.4 % of gross forwarding revenues were accounted for" vs.
"53.4 % of gross forwarding revenues was accounted for"

I've always thought it would be the former, but just had a copy editor changing this to the latter. Is there a rule anyone knows of?

    Thanks a lot!

x percent _is_ always singular. I'm sure there's something in the FOrum somewhere.

Really, Tete? I couldn't find anything at all, but it would be good to see a discussion on it - you don't have a link by chance?
