    clear + see - structure

    Just found "clearly to see" in a text by a non-native speaker who has good command of the English language, though.

    Personally, I don't think that the structure works. It should be

    (1) It's clear to see that sth is the case. and not
    (2) It's clearly to see that ...

    because "clear" refers back to "it is".
    (I might be wrong, though.)

    Can someone confirm this?

    I agree with you. It should be either "It's clear to see..." or "It can be seen clearly that ..." However, instead of "it's clear to see...," I'd prefer the simple "It's clear/obvious that ..." myself. :-)
