Comment		Uhm well... The thing is, I need the correct pronunciation of Macfadyen for my oral examination about Pride&Prejudice (mündliche Facharbeitsprüfung ;). Could you please tell me? Is it [fedi'en] or [fedyen]? sorry, I can't really remember the phonetic spelling ;)

Comment		As long as you remember that an English "a" isn't pronounced like an "e", the pronunciations you suggest are both okay. Probably the one with the "y" is more natural. And the Mac is pronounced with a weak vowel.
