    someone / anyone

    Comment
I know that in questions and negations you use "anyone" and in ordinary sentences "someone". But I think there is a rule so I can use someone in questions too. I am not sure with one sentence. Do I say: Have you met someone from the States? or have you met anyone from the States?

    Thanks

There seem to be some previous threads on this in the archive, albeit on "somebody" vs. "anybody" - but these are synonyms of "someone" and "anyone" :-)

    Dictionary: somebody anybody
