imo,in this (meagre) context, neither nor -

    we recommend THAT you take
    as in:
we recommend that you take the 50A to Clapham, and then change to the Underground

but, Obacht!, this might be different in AE usage

I recommend your following odondon's advice, maybe even ommitting 'that': e.g. "we recommend you take 3 a day after meals". And I wouldn't recommend the use of "to" here in either position.

@Ghol - if I've read the AHD entry correctly, wouldn't it have to read:

"we recommend youR TAKING 3 a day..."

    or

"we recommend THAT you TAKE 3 a day..."

the longer I think about it the more insecure I'm getting...

@ odondon irl: off the topic, aber verrätst du mir wo du herkommst? Irgendwo aus Franken? Mir ist nur den "Obacht" sofort ins Auge gestochen.

@odondon: I don't see why you need "that". Google bears me out. Dunno about the AHD

but for the actual context you would say something like

    "today's recommendations are: ...."

"Today's pick of the menu includes..."

or something like that. Otherwise it's far too serious, as in "and we won't be held responsible if you choose something else"

    oder?
