    Addressing letter to Ireland

    Comment
Hello all, what's the correct way to address a letter to be sent to the Republic of Ireland? Should you label it EIRE or something? Also, are there no postcodes in Ireland?

    Hallo CM2DD -

no there are no postcodes in Ireland - Dublin has local post codes, and I assume Cork and other larger towns might have, but there is no British or German equivalent to post codes.

    AS to an address:

    Mr. O'Rourke,
    'The Hives'
    15 Ballyhoney Rd.
    Ballybunion,
    Co.Clare

IRLAND - if sending from Germany

Thanks odondon. I have a letter here where the sender has written "IRISH REPUBLIK" (I think it's meant to be German); would "IRISH REPUBLIC" be unsuitable?
