What are the differences between a "production plant" and a "production facility" in English and "Produktionsstätte", "-werk", "-anlage", "-einrichtung" in German?


the "free dictionary" (www.thefreedictionary.com) says
a "plant" is
a. A building or group of buildings for the manufacture of a product; a factory.
b. The equipment, including machinery, tools, instruments, and fixtures and the buildings containing them, necessary for an industrial or manufacturing operation.

and a "facility" is
"a building or place that provides a particular service or is used for a particular industry; "the assembly plant is an enormous facility"; "the assembly plant is an enormous facility"

--> Does that mean "production plant" can refer both to a complex of buildings AND machinery/ equipment but a "production facility" can only refer to a complex of buildings and NOT to the machinery/ equipment?


And what are the differences between "Produktionsstätte", "-werk", "-anlage",
"-einrichtung" in German? Can "-anlage" and "-einrichtung" refer both to the machinery/ equipment AND to the complex of buildings?
