I have seen this old bayerisch motto for years, but have yet to find a "clean" English translation. Please help!

The motto of the house of Wittelsbach was/is "Semper fidelis" or in German translation "In Treue fest" - "Always faithful".

I think "ever faithful" would be neater English for a motto than "always faithful".

and I think that ' ever loyal ' is closer to the original, and probably better fits the medieval ideals.
