    Aufzählung "von... über... bis..."

    Comment

Next time, you might try the forum search:

It doesn't always work with shorter words, but it did fairly well on these three, today. Not all of the dozens of previous threads on the same question show up at the top of the list, but they do seem to be there somewhere, mostly.

I'm not sure about #1: the repetition of "to" doesn't sound right (in BE at least). I'd write:

from umbrellas and cosmetics to furniture

Agree, #1, SD3, I would repeat the "to". AE

    from ... to ... to ... to ... and even ...!

(Don't mess with my toot toot though.^^)

@3: You are not familiar with this sort of thing?
Owls are found worldwide in a huge range of habitats from rainforests to grasslands to wooded areas to tundra.

    SteveG (in a different thread):

    Another variation:
We supply everything from X and Y to Z.
I'd forget the "via", which sounds odd.

    I agree:
    von A über B, C und D bis E
    = from A, B, C and D to E
    or
    from A to B, C, D and E
etc. (making the transition with "to" wherever it makes the most sense)

    or as in #5: from A to B to C to D

The important point is that English doesn't tend to use the three stages "von - über - bis", although this is normal in German.
