Das Gegenteil gibt es nicht. Man fragt nach Ex-(Ehemann /-frau/-freund). Aber doch nicht, wo man den/die gelassen hat.

"Better half" ist doch immere Ehemann /-frau, ich verstehe die Frage nicht.

"better half" is a slang word you would call your spouse. it is a compliment to call your spouse (husband or wife) "my better half" because in effect you are saying that you are the worse half of the pair.

Gibts dann nicht was vergleichbares?
Hier ein Beispiel wie ich das meine:

I wished I'd be you're better half
Could I be your xxx?


Could I be your better half?
oder gibts da was anderes oder ähnliches? oder gar nicht oda wie?

"Could I be your better half" ist richtig, aber ich habe bisher weder auf deutsch noch auf englisch jemals gehört, daß das jemand seine(n) Zukünftige(n) gefragt hätte. Einen Versuch ist es auf jeden Fall wert ;-)
