literally: 'not to see the wood for the trees'

(und im spanischen Forum zweifle ich noch ein wenig, ob die Vorschlaege wirklich idiomatisch sind)

I know it as:
"to not see the forest for the trees"

Anscheinend verträgt diese ja meist auch ohne Erläuterung recht bildhaft begreifliche Redewendung (auch) auf Englisch leichte Variierung, ohne unverständlich zu werden.
