    Um Randströmungen auszuschließen, ist eine Randgassperre (umlaufende PE-HD Folie; 250 mm breit und 5 mm dick) eingebaut worden.

    In order to eliminate edge flows an edge gas barrier has been installed (circulating PE-HD foil; 250 mm wide and 5 mm thick).

    This is my try...has anyone any idea if the terms in questions are transcribed properly?

    To me, foil is usually made of metal.
    Leo also offers the translation 'film'.
    Which may be preferred, in the case of something made out of high-density polyethylene.
    I think it is not circulating, but stationary.
    Is it some kind of gasket, affixed to the inside of a pipe?
