    Is this a toast or a roast?

    Context/ examples
    A guest rises to deliver a wedding toast, but then makes some rather uncharitable remarks about the bridegroom who had apparently lured the "adorably quaint" bride away from him. Finally, another guest bursts out with "Is this a toast or a roast?"

    "Anmache" spielt einerseits auf das "adorably quaint" an, andererseits gibt es auch den Ausdruck "jemanden blöd anmachen" im Sinne von "jemanden dumm anreden / ärgern"

    "roast" dürfte in diesem Kontext als "Schelte", Beschwerde o.ä. verstanden werden, anstatt "Anmache".

    antoßen = auf jemandes Wohl das Glas erheben
    aufstoßen = das stößt mir sauer auf

    Vielleicht auch gewissermaßen als unreiner Innenreim:
