    Hi, does anyone know an appropriate german word for amplicon or waht it actually means? It could be something like the amplified target gene per se, but I´m not quite sure.

    Any suggestions? Thanks for helping :)

    ups sorry, it stands for Polymerase Chain Reaction and is a commonly used method in Biology and Medicin.

    Die Argumentation verstehe ich nicht, Mastermix. (Mal davon abgesehen, dass die Nachsilbe (-ikon) meines Wissens griechischen Ursprungs ist.)

    Okay, ich verstehe deine Argumentation jetzt, Mastermix. Da "-ikon" aber aus dem Griechischen kommt, ist die Schreibweise mit "k" richtig.
    Wo der Faden schonmal wieder oben ist: Amplikon und Amplifikat sind wirklich synonym.
