    Abkürzungen RA, WP, StB, FA

    Hallo,

    kann mir jemand sagen, ob es auch im Englischen die genannten Abkürzungen gibt?

    RA= Rechtsanwalt (Attorney at Law)
    WP= Wirtschaftsprüfer (Certified Public Accountant)
    StB= Steuerberater (Tax Consultant)
    FA= Fachanwalt (Specialist)

    Aus Sicht eines legal eagle: Aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Studienverläufe muss man die deutschen Abschlüsse und Fachtermini immer umschreiben, Abkürzungen sind mir da leider noch nie untergekommen... Schade eigentlich..! :-)

    #1 Yes, but a CPA is not a [German] Wirtschaftsprüfer, but someone who holds the American CPA qualification. If you describe a German as a CPA, people will assume that he trained in America, not in Germany.

    Nicht wirklich eine Abkürzung für den attorney, aber ähnlich gebraucht, ist in den USA verbreitet das nachgestellte Esq.

    #4. Wow, that's weird. I'm only familiar with what the article calls the unmarked use of "esquire" in the modern British fashion, as an honorific simply an alternative to Mister (Mr.).
