    I know that an M24 screw is pretty big, but I don't know what the SW36 means. My best guess is that it might have something to do with thread pitch. If you can explain, in German if you prefer, just what SW36 means, I might be able to give you the English terminology.

    Of course, a 36mm hexagonal head would make sense, and in this context, the term AF for "across flats" can be used, but it is very unusual with metric bolts, as AF sizes are generally understood to be inches in England.

    Im Maischeinbau wird auf Zeichnungen oft, z.B. "HEX 10" verwendet. Meint ein Sechskant von 10mm. Dies ist oft die korrekte Übersetzung für die deutsche Zeichungsangabe "SW".

    Immer ist "HEX aber nicht korrekt.

    Oft sieht man auch, z.B. "AF 14" für "across flats" von 14mm. (gemäss ISO 272) Das kann, muss aber kein Sechskant sein. Es kann auch ein 4-Kant, 2 gegenüberliegende Fläche auf einer Welle oder sogar ein 8-Eck bezeichnen, auf das man einen Gabelschlüssel stecken kann. "AF" sollte genauer speztifitierzt werden, sonst könnte es missverständlich sein.
