    What means "library paste"

    Sources
I just found it in Linux fortunes:

There once was a couple named Kelley,
Who lived their life belly to belly.
    Because in their haste
    They used library paste,
    Instead of petroleum jelly.

I guess it is something like glue, but I'm not sure...

Library paste is a type of glue-like adhesive made from a mixture of either water and flour or water and starch. It is used to bind paper or paperboard. This substance also appears as a common theme within some of the illustrations and stories by the author Edward Gorey.
