Every medicine has a legal category. POM means prescription only medicine - you can only get the medicine on prescription. P means pharmacy - you can only get the medicine from a retail pharmacy. GSL means general sales list - you can buy the medicine without a pharmacist, for example in a supermarket. CE Mark is used on devices."

It's given as the "legal category" in the SPC (see glossary in the link above), e.g.
"LEGAL CATEGORY
POM"

Danke Marianne, das ist das, was ich brauche. Jetzt kann ich eine common SmPC als Übersetzung eine deutschen Fachinfo verwenden. Leider taucht dieser Punkt nicht in den allgemeinen Formatvorlagen auf, die ich normalerweise verwende, daher meine Frage.

Nochmal edit: auf den link hätte ich auch selber kommen können, da schaue ich normalerweise nach, wenn ich einen englischen Beipackzettel brauche...

Auch auf die Gefahr hin, hier einen uralten Thread auszugraben, möchte ich diese falsche (veraltete?) Info hier so nicht stehen lassen. In SmPC sowie im Labelling wird in der Regel der Ausdruck "General classification for supply" genutzt, nicht - nie! - "Legal status". Siehe Punkt 14 auf Seite 13 im englischen EMA-Template unter oben genanntem Link.

Allerdings wurde selbst im Template von 2006 (Version 1.0 der EMA-Templates) schon "General classification for supply" verwendet.
