    @5: they can and they do. But it's still the wrong suggestion here IMO because the register is different. It's far ruder than 'alle Nase lang'. dude's are good.

    Yep I think so, too. I guess I go with "every little while" and "ever so often". "Every now and then" doesn't fit because it means "hin und wieder", IIRC.
    BTW "ruder" is not valid. ;-)
