| Comment | I understand, other places, other customs.  But in (AE) English, no one would ever refer to one-sixth or one-twelfth of, say, annual salary.
 Someone might be docked (lose, for some reason) a month's pay.  Meaning: One twelfth of annual base salary, without regard to bonus, overtime, etc.  Or, a bonus might be equal to two-month's pay (same). Also possibly reference to, say, 10% or 25% of annual salary.
