    Ich suche eine Ausdrucksweise für vor- und zurückbewegen (wiegen, wippen) des Körpers in Trauer oder um ein Kind zu beruhigen.

    Shivering and crying she ... back and forth.
    She held her daughter tight, ... back and forth while humming a song to calm her.

    Kann man da einfach nur move verwenden, oder doch eher see-saw oder cradle?

    Funny - to me, "sway" would automatically imply a left-to-right movement, while "rock" would be a forward-and-back motion. Does anybody else see it this way, or is it just me?

    Genau das dachte ich auch (hinterfragte aber mein Sprachgefühl).
    (Fragte mich zudem, ob es in #0 nicht "held tightly" heißen könnte / müsste.)
