    It's where you melt little lead figures in a spoon on New Year's Eve to see what the year ahead will bring...a form of fortune-telling.

    There are a few Google hits for "lead pouring" (also from native speakers), but I doubt that anybody unfamiliar with this German tradition will know what you are talking about. So you're probably going to have to describe what Bleigießen means.

    #3: Use that word and people will have even less of an idea what you are talking about than if you were to say "lead pouring" -- or even "Bleigießen." ;-)
