    I am searching for an English equivalent to "Binnenerzählung" or "Binnenhandlung" used as a literary term. Is there a specific tern or do I have to say something like "as story within a story"? For "Rahmenerzählung" LEO offers "framework story". Is this term actually used by native speakers?

    I don't know of any specific term for this. "A story within a story" is the usual phrase.

    Once you have introduced this idea, you can use phrases like "the inner story" and "the outer story" in your analysis.
