If I were to fly from London to Frankfurt, and then, (as part of the same booking) return from, say, Berlin, to London, having travelled overland in Germany, this would be referred to by a travel agent as an "open jaw" itinerary.

However, not many people know this expression, and I would not know it if I had not worked in the travel industry myself for a while. It's what you might call a "Fachbegriff", I think.

How do I make a multicity reservation?

    If your trip includes:
    - more than one destination (such as Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal-Toronto) or
    - travel that is not part of this booking (such as flying Vancouver-Edmonton, driving to Calgary, then flying Calgary-Vancouver)

Select "Multi-city" on the Flights page then book one segment at a time. Once you have built the entire itinerary, your fare quote will be calculated.

I had never heard of 'open jaw' either, but if this site is to be believed, it may be a standard term in the travel industry.

I have no idea how I was seduced into responding to a six-year old thread.
    Hate it when that happens.
