    Lippen verziehen

    Sources
    Die Erleichterung stand ihm ins Gesicht geschrieben. Seine Lippen verzogen sich zu einem leichten Grinsen.

    The relief on his face was obvious; his lips turned into a slight grin. (Würde ich jetzt mal, etwas frei, übersetzen - aber ich bin mir unsicher bei 'turned' für verziehen - lann man das nicht besser ausdrücken?)

    Danke schon mal für eure Hilfe.

    I think your version is fine.

    I think the first part could be stated better. Instead of...
    The relief on his face was obvious;
    ...it would be more logical to say...
    The relief (or: His sense of relief) was evident on his face; his lips turned (or curved) into a slight grin.

    "his lips twisted into ...", falls "verzogen" negativ behaftet sein soll.
